About

Nuthatch Cottage (sleeping up to 2, plus cot) is a beautifully renovated, traditional cob barn with thick walls and lots of beams, giving real character to this cosy cottage for two.

It is named after the pair of nuthatches which nest in the garden and can be seen on the bird table.

The cottage has had a chequered history in its 300 years, most recently as one of the two village pubs.

Like Swallow Barn which it adjoins, it is an upside-down cottage with its cosy and well-furnished double bedroom and bathroom downstairs.

Upstairs is the sitting/dining room with a cosy sofa and armchair and dining area overlooking the private terrace and gardens.

The adjoining kitchen is very well fitted and includes a washing machine.

French doors open from this dining/sitting area onto the private, sunny, south facing terrace with direct access to the gardens and tennis court.

  • Sleeps up to 2 plus cot
  • 'Upside down' cottage with beautifully furnished ground floor double bedroom
  • Separate well-fitted bathroom with shower over bath and complimentary toiletries
  • Open plan beamed sitting room/dining room with flat screen digital TV, DVD and CD
  • Adjoining fully-fitted kitchen area
  • French doors to the private terrace with garden furniture and gardens beyond
  • Central heating in the cooler months, and double glazed for cosy all-year-round holidays

Best weather we have had, rainy day items not needed once. Joss the dog completely exhausted but he's the only one looking forward to going home for a rest!

The worst thing about Nuthatch Cottage is having to leave it. We have had a great relaxing holiday and we were made so welcome. The scenery and coastal walks are superb.

The cottage is lovely and we have been very comfortable and it has been great to watch such a busy bird table complete with nuthatches! Only one complaint and that is that we have to leave tomorrow.
